Young Women, Like, Way Ahead of the Linguistic Currrrve

By DOUGLAS QUENQUA Published: February 27, 2012

This is a very interesting — and unexpected— read I found on The New York Times about how vocal patterns originated by young women become relevant in culture. A bit surprising given that this way of talking is a personal pet peeve.

’cause you know, like, it’s cool to create a trend and all… but, like, I think they still talk, like, weird? You know? Like, silly? I mean… Like, annoying?
